If You Bought a first-generation Pixel Smartphone, You May Be Eligible for Payment from a Class Action Settlement

Case Summary

If you bought one of the First-Generation Pixel or Pixel XL smartphones in the United States, other than for resale, you may be eligible to get a payment from a class action settlement. The lawsuit being settled concerns first-generation Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones manufactured before January 4, 2017. Plaintiffs allege that these Pixels have a defect that leads to microphone or speaker failures. The defendant in the case, Google LLC, denies these allegations but has agreed to pay $7.25 million to settle the case.

COMMENT ON OR OBJECT TO THE SETTLEMENT AND/OR ATTEND A HEARING You can write to the Court about why you like or do not like the Settlement. You can’t ask the Court to order a larger Settlement. You can also ask to speak to the Court at the hearing on December 6, 2019 about the fairness of the Settlement, with or without your own attorney.

The Court in charge of this case still has to decide whether to approve the Settlement. Payments will be made if the Court approves the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved.
